No Kings Part III: Millions Strong and Growing
I have to give Epstein-in-Chief Donald Trump credit for one thing: successfully uniting a large swath of the anti-statist, anti-racist, anti-war, and pro-democracy movement like never before or, at least, since the late 1960s. Yesterday, Americans across the land, and some non-Americans around the globe(!), turned out in record numbers to protest the corrupt, incompetent, and authoritarian regime currently ruling the nation. As USA Today relates:
"No Kings" protests swept the nation on March 28, with millions of people demonstrating their objections to President Donald Trump and his administration.
The over 3,000 protests included colorful costumes, pointed chants and a myriad of signs addressing topics ranging from the Epstein files, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and calls for Trump's impeachment.
...
Organizers state that 8 million people participated in the third iteration of the protests, though that number has yet to be independently verified.
In and of itself, such a turnout is nice but not directly consequential. However, when combined with an upcoming midterm election cycle where polling for the president is at an all-time low across every issue except immigration (a 50-50 tie there), there is a very high likelihood that the president's party will suffer a historic wipeout in November. Such fears were further reinforced recently when Trump's own Florida legislative district flipped democrat by electing Emily Gregory in an area that went Republican by nineteen points just two years ago.
As with everything else Trump manages, from casinos to magazines, and even payoffs to porn stars, he has now so thoroughly botched his tenure as the head of the GOP that the party might find itself a forgotten curiosity much like Trump Vodka.

Things are going so bad for MAGA, from the mismanaged economy to the Epstein revelations, the war, and even the backlash against Trump's marquee immigration policy, that I am starting to feel bad for every Trump voter (not really; I am loving every moment of it! 😁). They all must feel like complete idiots now, much as this woman had the honesty to admit:
While it is refreshing to see one of the "couch potato demographic" snap out of their stupor, it is also worth noting that she has only done so because the cost of Trump's foolish policies has affected her financially. As I mentioned in my post on Pam Bondi's rant justifying the Trump-Epstein cover-up by pointing to a 50K DOW (now down to 45K!), the typical Trump voter is primarily motivated by self-interest. They do not care how Trump's policies harm their fellow Americans or even the country as a whole; they only care about how he will enrich themselves. In many ways, the typical Trump voter is like the fools who fall for the transparently false "Nigerian prince" email scams. Their avarice makes them stupid, and their stupidity makes them dangerous to themselves and those around them.
After supporting a self‑professed sexual predator, after supporting a convicted felon, after supporting an insurrectionist, after supporting a corrupt and incompetent businessman, and after supporting a man whose ignorance became a national liability, how will these MAGA voters feel when Trump and his circle are finally tossed onto the ash heap of history? I would like to imagine that, like Jabez Stone, they will feel remorse for selling their souls to the devil in exchange for a little prosperity. But I doubt it. More likely, they will follow the pattern we saw in Germany after the ruinous rule of Hitler: most will try to escape culpability by insisting they never supported him at all, despite voting for him three times and owning a closet full of red hats. Others will be marginally more honest, admitting their early enthusiasm while claiming he merely ‘went too far.’ But as with so many Germans after the war, I suspect that deep in their hearts they regret nothing except their own personal losses.
